Oi pessoal! Hoje, eu vou fazer uma trilha e eu vou levar você comigo. Vamos lá!

Neste vídeo, você vai aprender vocabulário útil relacionado a trilhas e natureza. Eu estou numa região que se chama Delaware Water Gap. É uma região muito bonita que fica a mais ou menos uma hora e meia de Nova York. Por aqui tem muitas cachoeiras, muitas trilhas lindíssimas. É a primeira vez que eu venho fazer trilha aqui, então eu estou muito animada.

Vamos então começar nossa trilha.

Quando você estiver fazendo trilha, é muito importante prestar atenção às marcações. Então, aqui nós temos essa marcação, ela indica que estamos fazendo a Cliff Trail, que é branca. É importante você prestar atenção a isso para não se perder durante a sua trilha.

Vamos dar uma olhada naquela vista ali.

Acredito que este seja o rio Delaware.

Este caminho que estamos fazendo chama-se “trilha”, e o verbo é “fazer trilha”.

Nós não temos um único verbo em português, tal como temos no inglês, “to hike”, “to go hiking”, em português nós dizemos: eu vou fazer trilha. Eu estou fazendo uma trilha.

Aqui nós temos uma bifurcação. O caminho se divide em dois. Neste momento, é importante prestar atenção na marcação, nas cores. Então, pra lá, segue a trilha amarela, e em frente temos a trilha branca, que é a nossa trilha.

Essa trilha é bem fácil de fazer. É um caminho super simples. É bom pra curtir. Tem bastante árvore, então não tem muito sol. Isso é bom, porque fazer uma trilha longa no sol é difícil. Então, está muito agradável. Hoje o dia está muito quente, ensolarado, então uma trilha coberta, com bastante árvore… é perfeito.

Tem mais uma vista aqui.

Eu gosto muito de fazer trilha porque é um exercício muito agradável, e, além disso, é uma maneira de estar em contato com a natureza, de me conectar com a natureza, porque eu moro em uma cidade grande, Nova York.

E eu morei em cidades grandes quase toda minha vida. Morei em São Paulo, Nova York, Buenos Aires, e outras cidades grandes, então, pra mim, fazer trilha é uma maneira de suprir essa necessidade que eu tenho de estar em contato com a natureza.

Então temos a nossa trilha branca é pra lá, eu acho. Pra cá é outra trilha, a trilha preta. Acho que a branca é pra lá. Vamos indo, Wilson.

Chegamos ao final da Cliff Trail. É logo ali. Tem mais um “Cliff”, por isso chama-se Cliff Trail, tem muitos “cliffs”, e uma vista muito bonita. Eu pensei que teria uma cachoeira, mas não tem nenhuma cachoeira nesta trilha, mas, de qualquer maneira, é uma trilha muito bonita, que eu recomendo. Tem uma vista lindíssima.

Mas agora eu vou procurar por uma cachoeira, porque tem muitas outras trilhas nessa região, então eu vou procurar e ver se encontro uma cachoeira. Vamos lá?

Nós pedimos informações a um casal que estava passando e eles nos disseram que pra cá tem uma cachoeira, então estamos fazendo a trilha amarela, a Hackers Trail. Vamos ver se achamos uma cachoeira. Vamos lá.

Nós já caminhamos em torno de seis milhas hoje. Estou um pouco cansada, mas estou muito feliz, porque é muito bonito aqui.

Já consigo ouvir o barulho da água. Você consegue ouvir?

Estamos passando por um riacho, e eu acho que a cachoeira é logo ali na frente.

LET’S GO HIKING!

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going hiking and I’m taking you with me. Let’s go!

In this video, you’ll learn useful vocabulary related to trails and nature. I’m in a region called Delaware Water Gap. It’s a very beautiful region that is about an hour and a half from New York. There are many waterfalls around here, many beautiful trails. This is the first time that I come here to hike, so I’m really excited.

So, let’s start hiking.

When you are hiking, it’s very important to pay attention to the markings. So, here we have this mark, it indicates that we are doing the Cliff Trail, which is white. It’s important that you pay attention to this so you don’t get lost during your hike.

Let’s take a look at that view over there.

I believe this is the Delaware River.

This path that we are taking is called “trail”, and the verb is “to do a trail”.

We don’t have a single verb in Portuguese, as we have in English, “to hike”, “to go hiking”, in Portuguese we say: “I’m going to do a trail”. “I’m doing a trail”.

Here we have a fork. The path is divided in two. At this moment, it is important to pay attention to the marking, the colors. So, to that direction, goes the yellow trail, and straight ahead we have the white trail, which is our trail.

This trail is very easy to hike. It’s a super simple path. It’s good to enjoy it. It has a lot of trees, so it doesn’t have a lot of sun. That’s good, because hiking a long trail in the sun is difficult. So, it’s very pleasant. Today the day is very hot, sunny, so a covered trail, with a lot of trees… it’s perfect.

There’s one more overlook here.

I really enjoy hiking because it’s a very pleasant exercise, and besides, it’s a way to be in contact with nature, to connect with nature, because I live in a big city, New York.

And I lived in big cities almost all my life. I lived in São Paulo, New York, Buenos Aires, and other big cities, so, for me, hiking is a way to meet this need that I have to be in contact with nature.

So, we have our white trail that way, I think. This way there’s another trail, the black trail. I think white one is that way. Let’s go, Wilson.

We reached the end of the Cliff Trail. It’s right there. There is another “Cliff”, that’s why it is called Cliff Trail, it has many “cliffs”, and a very beautiful view. I thought there would be a waterfall, but there is no waterfall on this trail, but, anyway, it’s a very beautiful trail, which I recommend. It has a beautiful view.

But now I’m going to look for a waterfall, because there are many other trails in this area, so I’m going to look and see if I can find a waterfall. Let’s go?

We asked a couple who was passing by for directions and they told us that there’s a waterfall this way, so we are doing the yellow trail, the Hackers Trail. Let’s see if we can find a waterfall. Let’s go.

We have already walked around six miles today. I’m a little tired, but I’m very happy because it’s very beautiful here.
