O que é um trava-língua?
Trava-línguas são aquelas frases difíceis de pronunciar, geralmente com sons repetidos ou trocados, que nos dá a sensação de ficar com a língua travada.
Pronunciar trava-línguas é um ótimo exercício para melhorar sua pronúncia e dicção, pois a repetição dessas palavras difíceis vai fazer você usar músculos específicos do seu sistema fonológico e desenvolver sua capacidade de articular bem as palavras.
Existem muitos trava-línguas em português. Hoje, você vai aprender alguns dos trava-línguas mais conhecidos no Brasil.
O nosso desafio de hoje contém 8 trava-línguas. Você deve dizer cada trava-língua em voz alta pelo menos três ou quatro vezes, a primeira vez bem devagar, a segunda vez um pouco mais rapidamente, e a terceira e quarta vez o mais rapidamente que você puder.
Não se preocupe se você errar! Afinal, errar é a parte mais divertida do desafio! Trava-línguas são difíceis para falantes nativos também. Quanto mais você repetir, mais fácil vai ficar, e mais você vai desenvolver a sua articulação.
Ah, e vale a pena dizer que trava-línguas nem sempre fazem sentido. Então, não se preocupe muito em entender o significado. Concentre-se nos sons.

6. Em rápido rapto, um rápido rato raptou três ratos sem deixar rastros.
7. O doce perguntou pro doce qual é o doce mais doce que o doce de batata doce. O doce respondeu pro doce que o doce mais doce que o doce de batata doce é o doce de doce de batata-doce.
8. Num ninho de mafagafos, havia sete mafagafinhos. Quem conseguir desmafagar esses mafagafinhos grande desmafagafinhador será.
A palavra “mafagafo” não existe. É um animal fictício que existe apenas neste trava-língua.
Recomendo que você escolha um ou dois destes trava-línguas e tente memorizá-los para continuar praticando.

What is a tongue twister?
Tongue twisters are phrases that are difficult to say, and they usually have repeated or switched sounds, which give us the sensation of having your tongue twisted.
Pronouncing tongue twisters is a great exercise to improve your pronunciation and diction, since the repetition of these difficult words will get you to use specific muscles from the phonological system and develop your ability to articulate the words well.
There are lots of tongue twisters in Portuguese. Today, you’ll learn some of the most well-known tongue twisters in Brazil.
Our challenge today contains 8 tongue twisters. You should say each tongue twister aloud at least three or four times, the first time very slowly, the second time a little faster, and the third and fourth time as fast as you can.
Don’t worry if you mess up! After all, messing up is the most fun part of the challenge! Tongue twisters are hard for native speakers too. The more you repeat it, the easier it will get, and the more you will develop your articulation.
Ah, and it’s worth mentioning that tongue twisters don’t always make sense. So, don’t worry much about understanding the meaning. Concentrate on the sounds.

2. O rato roeu a roupa do rei de Roma. (The rat gnawed the King of Rome’s clothes.)
3. Bagre branco, branco bagre. (White catfish, catfish white.)
4. Três pratos de trigo para três tigres tristes. (Three plates of wheat for three sad tigers.)
5. A aranha arranha a rã. A rã arranha a aranha. Nem a aranha arranha a rã. Nem a rã arranha a aranha. (The spider scratches the frog. The frog scratches the spider. Not even the spider scratches the frog. Not even the frog scratches the spider.)
6. Em rápido rapto, um rápido rato raptou três ratos sem deixar rastros. (In a quick kidnapping, a quick mouse kidnapped three mice without leaving a trace.)
7. O doce perguntou pro doce qual é o doce mais doce que o doce de batata doce. O doce respondeu pro doce que o doce mais doce que o doce de batata doce é o doce de doce de batata-doce. (The sweet asked the sweet which sweet is sweeter than sweet potato candy. The sweet told the sweet that the sweet sweeter than sweet potato candy is the candy of the sweet potato candy.)
8. Num ninho de mafagafos, havia sete mafagafinhos. Quem conseguir desmafagar esses mafagafinhos grande desmafagafinhador será. (In a nest of mafagafos, there were seven baby mafagafos. He who manages to de-mafagate these baby mafagafos will be a great de-mafagafator.)
The word “mafagafo” doesn’t exist. It’s a fictitious animal that only exists in this tongue twister.
I recommend that you pick one or two of these tongue twisters and try to memorize them to continue practicing.
